Sourcefire FIRES Up its IPO
After pricing its shares at $15, Sourcefire (NASDAQ FIRE) shares started selling in the public market on Friday and closed Monday at $18, so far a nice outcome considering its long journey to get to this point. It has been almost a year to the day that Check Point called off its planned $225M acquisition of Sourcefire after failing to win approval from the US Justice Department. With its IPO, Sourcefire's market cap is north of $400M -- almost doubling the Check Point offer. By any measure, that's a great recovery from where things were a year ago.
